Senate Bills Seeks to Verify Age of Internet Porn Site Users

A bill in the state Senate would require porn sites to verify their users’ ages. SB-2590 would make companies that own the websites to adopt age verification technology to prevent anyone under 18 from accessing content. If the bill becomes law, alleged violations could be prosecuted by the state Attorney General’s office with daily fines of up to five-thousand-dollars. Money from the penalties would go into a fund to pay for investigations that involve exploited children.
