Illinois election officials say they saw a significant use of vote-by-mail for voters casting ballots in Tuesday’s primary, with many people voting early. They report almost 430-thousand Illinoisans voted early and 250-thousand voted by mail. Only 183-thousand voters cast their ballots in-person before yesterday.
Meanwhile, elections across the state were under the scrutiny of state investigators Tuesday to ensure against fraud. Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul assigned more than 190 attorneys general and investigators across the state yesterday to monitor primary elections. Raoul urged anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to report it to local law enforcement.
