SOCCER LEAGUE SIGN-UPS IN FAIRFIELD AND ALBION:
Registration is open the Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church Upward Soccer Season set to kick off September 7th. Open to ages pre-K 4th thru 8th grade. Practices will begin the week of August 26th and games will be played on Saturdays and weeknights. FRONTIER BOBCATS SOFTBALL 2-PERSON GOLF SCRAMBLE SET FOR SATURDAY, JULY 27TH:
Frontier Bobcats Softball team will be hosting a 2-person golf scramble on Saturday, July 27th at the Fairfield Public Golf Course. MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL:
The St. Louis Cardinals aim to avoid a three-game losing streak when they host the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium tonight. The Cardinals were just swept by the Kansas City Royals in a two-game series earlier this week. St. Louis remains in second place in the NL Central at 48-and-44. Sonny Gray takes the mound for the Cards tonight. First pitch is at 7:15PM.
The Chicago Cubs completed a sweep of one of the Baltimore Orioles with an 8-0 drubbing at Baltimore. Seiya Suzuki was three-for-five with two doubles and three RBI, while Dansby Swanson chipped in with a home run and two RBI. Chicago has won six of its last seven and is in fourth place in the NL Central at 45-and-49. Kyle Hendricks starts for the Northsiders against St. Louis tonight.
The Chicago Cubs will be without Cody Bellinger for the foreseeable future. The former NL MVP was placed on the ten-day injured list yesterday because of a fractured finger on his left hand. Bellinger is hitting .269 with nine home runs and 37 RBI this season.
.The Chicago White Sox look to get back in the win column when they host the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. The Southsiders are in last place in the AL Central at 27-and-68 First pitch is at 7:10PM.
