CLAY COUNTY FAIR IN FLORA STARTS FRIDAY JULY 19TH

The Clay County Fair is set to begin on Friday, starting at 4 pm with the 4-H BBQ at the REA building. Following this, gates will open at 5:30 pm for the Crain Scates Bucking Bulls Rodeo, hosted by the Clay County Farm Bureau Young Leaders. Entry to the rodeo is priced at $10, and children aged 5 and under can enjoy the event for free.

 

Saturday kicks off with 4-H general projects check-in at 8 am, with judging scheduled to begin at 8:30 am. Rabbit and Poultry check-in starts at 3 pm, leading up to the Poultry show at 4 pm, followed by the rabbit and Jr. rabbit show. The day concludes with the Clay County Farm Bureau Young Leaders Ag Olympics for participants aged 8 and above. Registration for the Ag Olympics begins at 6 pm, and activities commence at 7 pm.

 

Sunday is dedicated to checking in 4-H livestock, with weigh-in starting at noon. The kids’ pedal tractor pull registration opens at 1 pm near the Merchants building, with the pull event beginning at 2 pm, hosted by the Clay County Farm Bureau Young Leaders. The evening features the 4-H Open Sheep show at 5:30 pm, followed by the Clay County Ministerial Alliance program on the main stage at 6 pm. The night concludes with the greased pig contest at 7 pm.

 

Monday promises a packed schedule with the 4-H Beef Show starting at 8 am, followed by the JR Beef Show and the Sheep Show at 2 pm. The mini livestock show for children aged 4 to 8 will be held at 5 pm, sponsored by the Young Leaders. The evening continues with the Little Miss Pageant at 7 pm, with admission set at $7 for adults and $3 for children aged 2 to 12.

 

Tuesday begins at 8 am with the 4-H Swine show and Open Beef Show, followed by the goat show at 1 pm. The Master Showmanship Contest, sponsored by the Clay County Farm Bureau Young Leaders, takes place at 5 pm. The evening’s highlight is the Junior Miss Clay County Fair Pageant and Queen pie auction at 7:30 pm, featuring 11 young contestants. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children aged 2 to 12.

 

Wednesday’s lineup includes the JR Swine Show at 8 am, followed by the JR Goat Show, JR Sheep show, and the Tractor driving Contest at 1 pm. DaS zle Dance and Tumble will entertain the crowd at 5 pm, with free admission. The day concludes with the 4-H Livestock Auction commencing at 6:30 pm.

 

Thursday commences at 9 am with the Open Dairy Show, followed by the 4-H Dog and Cat Show. Joni’s Power & Grace Tumbling will take the stage at 5 pm. The 4-H Horse show and JR Horse show is scheduled for 6 pm. The evening entertainment includes the Clay County Fair Talent Show at 7 pm, with admission priced at $5 and free entry for children aged 6 and under.

 

The grand finale of the fair will be the Clay County Fair Queen and Future Miss Pageant on Friday night at 7 pm, with admission at $7 for adults and $3 for children aged 2 to 12.
