NUMEROUS SENTENCES WERE HANDED DOWN IN WAYNE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT TUESDAY

Several individuals were sentenced in Wayne County Circuit Court on Tuesday.  39-year-old James H. Williams of Geff admitted in court the he violated a previous Order of Probation on a charge Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.  Williams was then sentenced by Judge Michael Valentine to 3 years, 6 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

 

Saline County resident, 21-year-old Dylan McCollum from Muddy was sentenced to ten days in the Wayne County Jail for also violating a previous sentence of one year of probation.

 

24-year-old Cody Yates of Glendale, KY pled guilty to a charge of Assault.  Yates was placed on one year of court supervision, ordered to pay a fine of $150 plus court costs.

 

 

Joshua Downen, a 24-year-old Geff resident pled guilty to a charge of Domestic Battery.  Downen was originally placed on two years probation on the 2022 charge but admitted in court Tuesday that he violated his probation due to another arrest, again for battery in 2023. Downen was re-sentenced for a term of two years probation plus complete an anger management class and spend ten consecutive weekends in the Wayne County Jail.
