Mike Sell, 66, of Carmi, Illinois, died Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at his home. He was born August 18, 1956, in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Alvin Roy Sell and Ruth Kathryn (Shaw) Sell. He was married to Donna K. (Mayhue) Sell on February 17, 1978, and she survives.
Mike was a retired electrician. He was a member of Ditney Ridge Baptist Church near Norris City, Illinois. Mike was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren who affectionately called him “PaPaw.” He was one that could fix anything.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Sell; daughter Katie (Jake) Duvall, all of Carmi, Illinois; sisters Marsha (Mike) Moye of Omaha, Illinois, and Kay (Dwayne) Roser of Enfield, Illinois; and grandchildren Beckett, Cole, and Dawson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Ruth Sell.
Mike’s visitation and funeral are in conjunction with his mother, Ruth Sell’s visitation and funeral. Visitation is 10 am to 1 pm at Ditney Ridge Baptist Church near Norris City, Illinois. Funeral is at 1 pm at Ditney Ridge Baptist Church with burial in West Union Cemetery near Brownsville, Illinois.
