FAIRFIELD GRADE SCHOOL DISTRICT MET MONDAY NIGHT

The Fairfield Grade School board is considering hiring a “universal screener” for students in grades 4th-8th. This screener could be used to identify students that need support with depression and anxiety. During the board’s meeting Monday night, Supt. Kristina Gardner explained parents would be able to opt out of this screener for their child. In other business, she reported this is the last year of Eureka 2 so the district will be discussing math curriculum this year as well as science curriculum.  In discussing the revenue expenditure report, Supt. Gardner said the district has received 9% of it’s revenue and expended 16% of the budget. In Food Service, the district maintains a healthy balance of $263,911. Supt. Gardner reported the district has signed an agreement with WADI and Head Start for early learning program collaboration for Preschool children.   After a closed session, the following action items were taken:

  • The board accepted the resignation of Justin Hodges as transportation director.
  • The board accepted the resignation of Georgianna Fletcher as

full time bus driver.

  • The board employed Bryce Kovacich as Interim Bus Director.
  • The board approved coaches for winter and spring sports.
  • The Board employed Miranda Cooper as paraprofessional
