81-year-old Lois LaVonne Wheat of Wayne City and formerly of Fairfield died at 11:46 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the Mcleansboro Rehab & Health Care Center. She worked as a legal secretary for a short time and then stayed at home to raise her family after the birth of her first child. She was a member of the Fairfield 1st Baptist Church.
Lois is survived by her husband Bob Wheat of Wayne City; three sons Rob (Kelly) Wheat of Troy, IL, Randy Wheat of Englewood, CO and Rusty (Lisa) Wheat of Brownsburg, IN; two sisters Betty Young of Ft. Morgan, CO and Sandy Warsham of Greeley, CO; seven grandchildren Logan, Morgan, Cody, Cassidy and Peyton Wheat and Cady and Von Owen; and a great-grandchild Jaxson Vaughan.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8th at the Fairfield First Baptist Church with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the church. Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of the arrangements.
