Harvey B. Engelmeier

EngleHarvey B. Engelmeier, 91, of Flora, Illinois died Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the Gardens in Flora. He was a WWII veteran who served in the 7th Army 44th Infantry Batallion in the European Theatre of War. He was a retired lineman with the City of Flora Electric Department. He was a former Civil War Reenactor with the 15th Arkansas NW Volunteer Army CSA, participating in encampments all around the country.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Jean Engelmeier of Flora, Illinois; son and their other daughter Micheal (Kristal) Engelmeier of Flora, Illinois; adopted son, Charlie Lee of Salem, Illinois; Sister Bernadine Landreth of Flora, Illinois; sister-in-law Dorothy Engelmeier of Flora, Illinois; Grandchildren Kristy (Karl) Kramer, Brandii (John) Newby, Rodd (Jodi) Engelmeier; Great-Grandchildren Lizabeth, Allie and Bianca Engelmeier, Cody Houston, Brianna Newby, Kendrick and Kennedy Kramer, and Jonah and Bodee Woomer; and a Great-Great-Grandson, Jace Harvey Engelmeier.

Harvey requested to be cremated and his ashes comingled with his wife’s ashes after her passing. Services will be held at that time where their cremains will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Fur a Good Paws and may be received at the Kohn Funeral Home in Flora, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
