Florence “Fern” Hon Fought

Florence “Fern” Hon Fought, 87, of Ft Myers, Florida and formerly of Carmi died Sunday, November 29, 2015. A native of Pond Creek in Wayne County, she worked for many years at First Bank in Carmi and retired there, as cashier, after many years of loyal service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Carmi and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She was also a gifted artist.

Survivors include her brother, Joseph Laverne Harris of Sun Lake, Arizona; five nieces, Shirley (Pud) Runyon of Olney, Debbie (Hal) Bryant of Norris City, Jo Ann Harris of Chandler, Arizona, Donna Daffendoll of Evansville, In, and Lockye (Dan) Drone of Carmi; two nephews, Ron Johnson of Mill Shoals and Terry Harris of Tule Lake, California; and two sisters-in-law, Verniece “Peg” Harris and Nola Johnson both of Mill Shoals. Also surviving are three stepsons, Steve (Cindy) Fought of Huntington Beach, California, Tim (Marcia) Fought of Portland, Oregon and Dan (Lori) Fought of Kerman, California; a stepdaughter, Marilyn Bryant of Stockton, California; one special step granddaughter, Kaetlyn Fought of Kerman, California and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Florence “Fern” Hon Fought will be 12 noon on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Burnt Prairie cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday, Dec. 4 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.

Memorial contributions made be made in her memory to the Baptist Children’s Home in Carmi and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
