Fairfield resident, 94-year-old Gene Gill, died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital Skilled Care Unit. He was a veteran of the US Army and the owner of Gills Sales and Service – a company he started from his back porch in 1951.
Gene is survived by his wife Phyllis, one son Jerry (Sandy) Gill, one daughter Sandy (Dale) Carter all of Fairfield, one step-daughter Dawna (Tommy) Wilson-Spears of Somerset, Kentucky, one sister Pauline Burgess of Tennessee, 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Pearl Gill.
Services for Gene Gill will be held at the Kings Chapel Church in Fairfield at 10 am on Saturday, February 6. Burial will be at the Wells Chapel Cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to the Kings Chapel Church or the Fairfield Memorial Hospital Comfort Care Room and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.
