D. Bissey Obit PictureDonald Myron “Jake” Bissey, 80, of Clay City died at 4:05 a.m., Tuesday, February 02, 2016, at his home. He worked in the oil business for over 40 years, retiring from the J.W. Rudy Oil Company in 1997 where he served as foreman. He was a volunteer fireman for the Clay City Fire Department from March of 1973 to February of 1991 when he retired from the department.

Survivors include his daughter Dona G. Bissey and son David E. Bissey both of Clay City, Illinois, grandchildren, Darlene (Jim) Coffin of Effingham, IL; Jacque (Tom) Holsapple of Rose Hill, Illinois; Jacob Cowger of Newton, IL; Brian Keesler and Mariah Wade both of Effingham, IL, great grandchildren, Mitchell, Jonathan, Sarah and Rachel, and brother, William Lee Bissey of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life Service for Donald Bissey will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Kohn Funeral Home in Flora, Illinois with burial at Zif Cemetery in rural Wayne County.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Kohn Funeral Home in Flora.

Memorials may be made to the Clay County Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be accepted at the Kohn Funeral Home in Flora.
