Vera Lee Cox – Fairfield

Vera Lee Cox obit pic100-year-old Fairfield resident, Vera Lee Cox died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Wayfair Nursing and Rehab in Fairfield. She had owned and operated the Grill Cafe for 18 years and later worked as the medical records secretarty at Fairfield Memorial Hospital for 25 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairfield and served as the church organist for 60 years.
Survivors include a son , Ric cox of Princeville, HI; two daughters, Kay Vertrees of Pekin, Ill. and Judy and husband James Gruner of Fairfield; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Vera Lee Cox will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield.
There will be no visitation. Those attending the service should go directly to the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the the First Christian Church Mission fund or Fairfield Memorial Hospital Foundation and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
