Andrew Jefferson “Andy” Tyler

74-year-old former Fairfield resident, Andrew Jefferson (Andy) Tyler of Salem died at 8:13 p.m. Thursday, March 10 at his home. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, he had been former owner of the Salem Super Sales/Ace Hardware.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn Tyler of Salem; two sons, Jefferson Tyler and wife Jamie of Olney and Timothy Tyler of Salem; sisters, Shirley Steury and husband Charles, Omega Scarbrough and husband Donnie and Virginia Witter and husband Don, all of Fairfield; brothers, J.B. Tyler and wife Ollie Mae of Fairfield and Nathaniel Tyler and wife Jan of Mt. Vernon; a sister-in-law, Darlene Tyler of Fairfield; a brother-in-law, Louis Cravens of Fairfield; eight grandchildren and one treat-grandchild.

Funeral services for Andrew Jefferson “Andy” Tyler will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 14 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2 – 5 Sunday evening, March 13 at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem and from 9:30am Monday until the service time at the Church.

Memorials may be made to the SSM Hospice of Mt. Vernon or Cardinals Care and will be accepted at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem.
