Emery F. Seel, 86, a resident of Nashville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at his home. He was a retired U.S. Postal Service letter carrier and was also a veteran of the Korean War where he served as a U.S. Marine.
He is survived by two sons; Harry (Debbie) Seel of Henderson, Ky, Howard (Margarita) Seel of Lebanon, In. One daughter; Darlene (Thomas) Liszewski of Nashville, IL. A step-son; Melvin (Dorothy) Heil of Dahlgren, IL and a half sister; Zoe Ellen Maxwell of Indianapolis, In. Five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and one step-great great grandchild also survive.
A funeral Mass for Emery Seel will be held Friday, November 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, IL with Msg. Joseph Lawler conducting the funeral Mass. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Piopolis with graveside military rites conducted by the McLeansboro American Legion Post #106.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
