Kenneth Paul “K.P.” Mitchell – McLeansboro

93-year-old McLeansboro resident, Kenneth Paul “K.P.” Mitchell died Saturday, July 29 at the home of his son in Brandon, Florida.  A U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II, he served with a Seabees unit.  A member of the Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro, he was employed by the USDA and FMHA as the Farm Credit Coordinator in McLeansboro.

Survivors include his wife Ella Pearl Mitchell of McLeansboro; a son, John Mitchell and wife Shirley of Brandon, FL; daughters, Connie Deen and husband Roger of Broughton, Paula Mitchell of McLeansboro and Kendra Millenbine and husband Larry “Spud” Millenbine of Morrisville, Ill.; a brother, Dr. Donald Mitchell and wife Judy of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Michelle York, Daniel Deen, Scott Craddock and wife Tina, Angela McMahon and husband Shad, Pamela Merchant, Kenneth Elliott and wife Diana, Alan Curtis Elliott, Chelsie Turlich, Ashley Mitchell, Dustin Mitchell and wife Maribel, Lindsey Cannon and husband Rodney, Bonnie Nitz and husband James, Taylor Caum and wife Gemini and Kaitlynde Caum plus 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Kenneth Paul “K.P.” Mitchell will be 12 noon Friday, August 4 at the Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro with burial in Blooming Grove Cemetery at McLeansboro with military rites provided by the American Legion Post 106 and a Military Team from Marion, Ill.

Visitation will be 10- a.m. Friday, August 4 until the time of service at the Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro.

Memorials may be made to the Carmi Baptist Children’s Home and will be accepted at the chur or the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
