80 year old Zana Fay (Bond) Beckman of Peoria, passed away August 4th 2017 at OSF Medical Center in Peoria.She was born to Raymond and Orpha (Steele) Bond on June 4th 1937 in Delafield IL, predeceased. Zana married Bill Beckman the love of her life on July 6th 1957.She worked as the Office Manager at the Children’s Home in Peoria and retired in December of 1999. She loved the outdoors and especially butterflies, going to the beach, and fishing. Zana cherished the title of “Gold Star Grandma”.
Zana is survived by her daughter Brenda (Larry) Bland of Peoria and one son Rob (Susan) Beckman of Mapleton; two granddaughters Laura (Eric) Lester of Peoria, Hannah Desilets of Peoria, and one great granddaughter Kyra Coyle Desilets of East Peoria. Also surviving are her seven brothers and sisters, Gary (Tobi) Bond of Pekin, Gayle Bond of Elmwood, Sharon Funk of Peoria, Jerry (Karen) Bond of Texas, Debbie (John) Dorothy of Peoria, Dave (Nancy) Bond of Peoria, and Linda Parker of Peoria.
Zana was preceded in death by her husband Bill Beckman, one grandson CPL Benjamin Desilets of the United States Marine Corps, and one brother Marvin Bond.
A visitation will be held on August 7th 2017 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria going from 5:00pm- 8:00p.m. A funeral service will be held the following day August 8th 2017 starting at 10:00a.m. at the funeral home and a graveside service will be held at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria IL.
