64-year-old Mt. Carmel native, Daniel Scott Brines died on February 16, 2018. Daniel was born on March 15, 1954 in Mt. Carmel, IL. He graduated from Avon Park High School and Florida Atlantic University where he was accepted into the Mensa Organization. Daniel has resided in Illinois, Florida, and Arizona during his working career. Most recently he has served as the associate pastor at Spirit of Life Ministries, International in Sebring, Florida.
Survivors include his grandchildren Matthew (and his mother, Amber Mounger) of Florida and Rylan, Teagan, Ariella, and Silas (and their mother, Courtney Dahlberg) of Illinois. He is also survived by his sisters, Pamela Dakan of Durango, Colorado and Deborah (Cecil) Walley of Sebring, Florida, two nephews, three nieces, and step-daughters Samantha and Sarah McDaniel of Illinois.
A graveside service for Daniel Scott Brines will be held Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Illinois. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to donate to Spirit of Life Ministries, 1548 Lakeview Drive, Sebring, FL 33870, noted for the Dan Brines Memorial Fund, to benefit the grandchildren or to help fund funeral expenses.
