Dorothy Wilson – Fairfield

94 year-old Dorothy Wilson of Fairfield, died at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 12 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi. Dorothy married Russell Wilson on January 29, 1947 and he survives. Dorothy and her husband Russell had purchased Your Flower Shop from her parents in 1953, owning it for over 60 years. They later sold the shop to their daughter, Melissa Garrison. Dorothy was a florist for several years after Melissa bought it.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Sewing Club.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Wilson of Fairfield. Three daughters – Melissa and husband Jerry Garrison of Fairfield, Susan and husband Loren Adams of Fairfield, and Jo Wilson and husband Fred Klehm of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. A sister, Marge Plumb of Fort Worth, Texas. Seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield, followed by a private family graveside service.

Memorials may be made to the Wabash Christian Village Memory Care Unit and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
