Mildred Marie (Cox) Tice, 95, of Fairfield passed away at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN on Saturday August 25, 2018 at 9:55 AM. Midge as she was loving known was born to Wayne & Iva ( Farmer) Cox in Fairfield, IL on March 7, 1923. She married Cecil W Tice on September 28, 1946 and he proceeded her in death in 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents, sisters & brother-in-laws, Betsy (James) Morris, Mary (Bill) Short, Margie (George,Jr) Shoultz, and Charlene Cox, brother & sister-in-law, Pete (Alice) Cox, sister-in-law Norma (Leo) Borah & brother-in- law, Ike Warren.
Surviving are a son, John W (Sharon) Tice Sr & a daughter, Mary Beth (Earl) Griswold all of Princeton, IN, 4 Grandsons- John W (Kim) Tice Jr Owensville, IN , James Griswold and Gregg Griswold Princeton, IN, and Billy (Amanda) Griswold Haubstadt, IN and 1 granddaughter Angela Tice Princeton, IN, 6 great- grandchildren- John W Tice III Mt Vernon, IN , Kameron & Ryder Griswold Oakland City, IN, Dara Tice Princeton, IN, and Emma & Cooper Griswold Haubstadt, IN, sister Shirley (Dude) Crider Cave in Rock, IL, sister-in-law Rosemary Warren Fairfield, IL. and several nieces & nephews.
Mildred has been a faithful member of the North Side Baptist Church since 1958 and worked at Airtex before retiring in 1985 after 40 years. Funeral services for Mildred Marie Tice will be held at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, IL at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 28 with visitation from 11:00 AM till service time. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials in her honor may be made to the Linda White Hospice House or North Side Baptist Church.
