Ethel E. Hanratty, age 91 of Olney, IL passed from this life to the next on August 31, 2018 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, IL. Ethel was born in rural Ellery, IL on July 10, 1927 to Reverend James and Elizabeth (Palmer) Weisenberger. She married John “Jack” Hanratty in Illinois. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, she loved people and they loved her. Ethel worked at the hospital in Olney for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters: Gwen Jones and Cass Travous, one brother, Junior Weisenberger, two sisters: Naydean Deom and Verna McKinney and one great grandbaby, Anna Marie Hinderliter.
She is survived by her two sons: C.L. (Betty) Wilson and Jerry (Margaret) Hanratty, one brother: Chick (Helen) Weisenberger of West Salem, ten grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 2PM to 3PM at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion, IL.
Funeral will be held at the funeral home at 3PM, and burial will follow at Cresthaven Cemetery, Claremont, IL
Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
