Earl Franklin St. Ledger – Albion

92 year-old Earl Franklin St. Ledger of Albion, passed from this life to the next on September 24 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.

He was born April 30, 1926 in rural Golden Gate, IL to Sybil (Shilling) and Clayton St. Ledger. He married Ruth Bunting on January 2, 1949, and she preceded him in death in October of 1992.

Earl was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He was a lifelong livestock and grain farmer. Earl was a long-time board member of the Southeaster Livestock Association, a 4-H leader, and a Farm Bureau member. He was also an active member of the Little Prairie Christian Church having served as a deacon and an elder.

He is survived by two sons: Kenneth St. Ledger and Dr. Donald (Kathy) St. Ledger, all of Albion; two grandsons: Todd (Kelsey) St. Ledger of Ellery and Eric (Tanea) St. Ledger of Albion; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister, Lola Summers.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Little Prairie Christian Church. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. at the church with burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Little Prairie Christian Church Building Fund or Wabash Christian Village, and envelopes will be available at the service.
