Phyllis “Phid” Brines – Albion

Phyllis “Phid” Gail Brines, 71, of Albion, IL, passed from this life to the next on January 15, 2019 at the rural Albion home of her niece.

She was born January 24, 1947 near Keenesburg, IL to Sylvia (Waddle) and Elmer Webb.

Phid gave her whole heart to the Lord at the age of thirteen. She was a member of the Bone Gap Christian Church where she taught a children’s Sunday school class and a youth group class. It was one of her greatest joys in life to lead someone to the saving knowledge of Jesus. Phid was a prayer warrior with an enormous burden for the lost. She loved people and they loved her. She was one of God’s great servants.

Phid was a Rural Letter Carrier for 25 years.  She had lived in Murray, KY for many years where she started her mail carrying career.

She is survived by her God-daughter, Veronica (Jason) Jones and her two children, Bo and Kaleb of Benton, KY; one sister, Jo Rector of Albion; one brother, Jack (Kathy) Webb of Albion; and nieces and nephews: Sylvia (Brad) Beadles of Ellery, IL, Carol Jo (Toby) Beadles of Albion, Nancy Jane Spillman of Newburgh, IN, Jason (Jalyn) Webb of Albion, Jared (Stacie) Webb of Belleville, IL; and Katie (Doug) Hinderliter of Albion; and five great-nephews and two great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law Bernice Brines.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home in Albion. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at West Village Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the West Village Cemetery or the Bone Gap Christian Church.
