Gene Douglass – McLeansboro

67-year-old McLeansboro resident Gene Douglass died at 1:14 a.m. on Sunday (April 28) at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was a member of the McLeansboro Elks and Eagles lodges and a business owner. He loved to bird hunt, but mostly loved playing with his granddaughters.

He was born in Eldorado on February 15, to Paule Eugene and Frances Clementine Douglass.

Gene Douglass is survived by two sons: Corey (Ashley) of Norris City and Kyle (Julie) of Mt. Vernon; three grandchildren: Amelia Kate, Hadley, and Kylie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Satterfield.

Visitation for Gene Douglass will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday (May 3) at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Funeral services will be on Saturday (May 4) at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery in Walpole.
