Ann Rankin – McLeansboro

63-year-old McLeansboro resident Ann Rankin died at 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday (5-14) at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. She was born on July 22, 1955, in Paducah, KY, to Roy Franklin and Thyda June Rhine. She married Jesse William “Bill” Rankin on May 7, 1983 in McLeansboro, and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2011.

Of the Protestant faith, she was also a retired florist and was affiliated with Roger’s House of Flowers. She loved to shop and loved outdoor activities, but her grandchildren were the pride of her life.

Ann Rankin is survived by two daughters, Amy (Jeremy) Glenn of McLeansboro and Abby (Willie) Sanders of West Frankfort; three grandchildren: Brittany Ragan, Garret Glenn, and Jessica Glenn; two great grandchildren: Cauler and Corbin Ragan; one sister, Mary Douglass (Gary) of Tyler, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Roger Rhine, and daughter Jessica.

Funeral services for Ann Rankin will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday (5-18) at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro, with Pastor Mike Glenn officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery in Walpole. Visitation will be held on Friday (5-17) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of arrangements.
