Debbie Troyer – Olney

Debbie Troyer, 62, of Olney, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Debbie was born on January 3, 1957 in Poplar Bluff, MO, the daughter of Clarence and Millie (Hoopingarner) Hancock. She married David Troyer on October 20, 1979 at the Christian Church in Noble and he survives.

Debbie was a most unique person. It would be hard to describe her in just one word, but here’s a few that come to mind:
Ornery ~ there was absolutely nothing that she wouldn’t do to make someone happy, or get a laugh. She was always cutting up, & she never backed-down from anything. The ornerier the idea, the more she loved it.
Loyal ~ she was fiercely loyal. When she loved, she loved completely. She stood up for whom & what she believed in, & she was always someone you would want in your corner. Many times, she rearranged her own life to help others, because it’s who she was.
Outspoken ~ no one ever had to wonder what she thought. She never hid her opinion, & she said exactly what she thought, exactly when she thought it. That wasn’t a bad thing, though, she could always be counted on for her honesty.
Creative ~ few people on earth could ever match Debbie creatively. Not only was she always designing the most amazing wedding & birthday cakes, if someone had an idea for a cake, she made it happen. They were a work of art.
Makeup ~ she was hardly out of bed before she had on a full face of perfect makeup. She loved makeup, & especially, lipstick. There wasn’t a lipstick too dark, or too glossy. She sparkled in her makeup, & when she did makeup for others, they sparkled, too.
Lucky ~ Debbie Troyer was the only person in the world, who could go on a cruise, & come home with more money than she left with. She had the best luck at slot machines, & she always had a plan. Some of her favorite trips were to Vegas, but she hardly ever saw anything beyond the pull of the slot machine.
Bling ~ there was never a day of her life that wasn’t improved by adding a little bling. She wore her jewelry like it was eyeglasses, hardly ever taking it off. The bigger & gaudier a piece of jewelry was, the more she loved it. She most definitely passed that on to several of her granddaughters.
Mom/Grandma ~ she was so very proud of her kids, & her grandkids. Every conversation she ever had always included a story about her kids or grandkids. However, she wasn’t just proud of “her” kids, many others considered her a surrogate mom, including her nieces & nephews, & her kids’ friends. She was a mom to everyone.
Strong ~ she fought cancer far longer than she was expected to, & she fought up until the very end. She probably didn’t even realize how strong she was, or how much fight she had, until she needed to.
Beloved ~ she made the world a much funnier, much brighter place, & she’ll be immensely missed.
