Patsy Ann Hensley – Grayville

79-year-old Patsy Ann Hensley of Grayville, died Wednesday, July 17 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born September 27, 1939, in Grayville, the daughter of Raymond and Velma Irene (Meserole) Cowling.

Patsy was an active member of the Northside Missionary Baptist Church in Grayville. For over 30 years, she was the custodian and relief librarian at the Carnegie Library in Grayville. She cleaned various homes and worked as custodian of Carey Court and taking care of the Carey family until their passing.

Some of her pastimes include bird watching, feeding birds, reading, working puzzles, crossword puzzles, playing bingo, visiting casinos with her daughters, exploring consignment shops and rummage sales, and spending time with her grandson Joshua David Hensley.

Survivors include son David Wayne Hensley of Arizona; daughters Lisa (Rod) Weedon of Fairfield, Illinois, Ina (Steve) Sneed of Grayville, Anita (Ronnie) Adams of Evansville; sister Brenda Bell of Bone Gap, Illinois; grandchildren Joshua David Hensley, Ben Weedon, Casey Weedon, Megan Hanmore, Tempest Rodgers; and several great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Donald “Spud” Cowling and Bucky Cowling; sister Faye Newton; grandchild Amber Dawn Herron; niece Donna Kelley; and her dear friend, Joan Treadway.

Visitation is 2-4 pm, Sunday, July 21, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Funeral is at 10 am, Monday, July 22, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Grayville.
