66-year-old Mary Elizabeth Henning, of Concord, died Sunday, August 4, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born May 14, 1953, in Carmi, the daughter of George David Walker and Nell (Weasel) Walker. She was married to Richard A. Henning, III, and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2016.
Mary was a member of the First Apostolic Church in New Haven. Her work career includes Stanley Law Office, White County Abstract Company, Mid-South Barge Company, and Southern Illinois Title Company. She enjoyed watching old western movies, boating, collecting cook books, cooking for her family, vacationing in Florida with her daughter, sitting in her rocking chair or her porch swing, and spending time with her grandchild, Kolbie.
Survivors include her daughter Kristie (Mariano) Bernhardt of Marco Island, Florida; brother Henry (Olena) Walker of Concord; grandchild Kolbie; nieces and nephews Shannon, Janelle, Eric, Meredith, and Margarita.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Nell Walker; and husband, Richard Henning.
Visitation is 5-7 pm, Thursday, August 8, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Funeral is at 10 a.m., Friday, August 9, at Cook Funeral Chapel with burial in Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.
