Rita Maybeline Clark

Rita Maybeline Clark went home to Jesus on October 2, at the age of 82.

Rita was born on July 22, 1937 in Overton County, Tennessee to Walter and Emily (Reagan) Wilborn. On September 29, 1956 Rita married Thomas Roy Clark at the parsonage of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, IL. This union produced three children: Deborah K, Barbara Lynn, and Wesley Roy.

Before her retirement in July of 2002, Rita worked at General Telephone, The Five and Dime Store, Farm Bureau/Country Companies, Freshwater Insurance Agency, Combined Services Inc which later became CSI Insurance and CSI Realty Co. After her retirement she volunteered as a “Pink Lady” with Fairfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Clothesline in Fairfield.

Rita is survived by her husband of 63 years, Tom Clark: two daughters, Deborah (Mike) Baker of West Salem and Barbara (Bill) Bruce of Fairfield: and one son Wesley (Rhonda) Clark of Fairfield: sister Treva Bau of Fairfield; Grandchildren Daniel & Shane Baker, Ashley (Nick) Tucker, William Bruce, Tyler (Julia) Clark, Macie & Lainie Clark: Great Grandchildren Jaylynn & Layne Tucker, Nova & Daxton Baker. Sister-in-Laws Alice Englebright of Franklin Tennessee and Lois (Bud) Hannaford of Fairfield plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Johnny, brothers Aaron Clinton, and Sheldon Gene Wilborn.

Graveside services for Rita will be held at 10:00AM Monday, October 7th at Koontz Cemetery on Highway 45 South of Fairfield. There will be no visitation, family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorials in Rita’s honor may be made to the Clay County Hospice.
