61-year-old John E. Robinson of McLeansboro died at 8:25 p.m. on Monday, January 27 at Hamilton Memorial Nursing & Rehab Center in McLeansboro. He was a Correction Officer at Vienna Correctional Center in Vienna. John served in the United States Army. He loved making woodcrafts and spending time with grandchildren.
He was born on December 15, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Jerald Robinson and Phyllis (Pearson) Robinson. He married Sharon Lynn French on June 15, 1993 in Vienna, and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; stepson: Duaine Abbott and wife Maggie of McLeansboro; stepdaughter: Angie Craddock of McLeansboro; five grandchildren: Whitney, Brandon, Jake, Daniel and Dawson; three great-granchildren: Allison, Heaven, and Justin; John was preceded in death by his parents and sisters.
Funeral services for John E. Robinson will be held at noon Thursday, January 30 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial to be at Cartwright Cemetery in McLeansboro with Reverend Harl Cockrum officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Thursday, January 30 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospitals and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all the arrangements.
