80-year-old Elsie L. Pearce, a resident of Eldorado, passed away Tuesday, February 4 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.
She was born January 11, 1940 in Hamilton County, IL, the daughter of Paul and Eva (Smothers) Short. Elsie was a home maker.
Elsie is survived by her husband, Jewell E. Pearce of Eldorado, IL; two sons: Robert (Amy) Pearce of Eldorado, IL and Joe (Sheila) Turrentine of Brownsville, IL; two daughters: Linda Hancock of Eldorado, IL and Donna (Brad) Johnson of South Carolina. Nine grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Bennie Turrentine; one brother, Floyd Short, one son, Paul H. Turrentine, and a granddaughter, Emilie Turrentine.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 7 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
