Zachary James Maxham

Zachary James Maxham, age 24, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Zachary was born May 19, 1995 to Toby (Neva) Maxham of Fairfield and Christy (Jeff) Davenport of Townsend, GA.

Zachary attended Geff Grade School and Fairfield Community High School. He had worked in the past at Denise’s Corner Café in Geff and at Walmart in Olney. He also spent time volunteering at Hope Ministries Food Pantry.

Zachary enjoyed listening to music and he loved to sing. A favorite song of his was “The Voice of Truth” by Casting Crowns. A line from the song says, “I will soar with the wings of eagles when I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus singing over me.” Heaven has welcomed Zachary home where Jesus is singing over him.

He is survived by his loving parents, his brother Charles and sister-in-law Marissa Maxham of Louisville, sister Katlyn Maxham of Fairfield, Grandparents Charlene Carter of Fairfield, Craig and Velma Bashore of Geff, Paula Perkins of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Great Grandmother Shirley Gardner of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers Bill Carter and Rick Perkins.

Cremation rites will be accorded with private services being held at a later date due to the current pandemic.
