76-year-old Charlotte Ann McKechnie of Maryville, formerly of Albion, died at 1:05 p.m. on Monday, August 24 at Cambridge House of Maryville.
She was born on July 18, 1944 in Olney, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Anna (Hogue) Gill.
Charlotte attended school at Edwards County High School.
She married Ben McKechnie on October 20, 1962 in Albion. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2006.
Charlotte is survived by four daughters, Kimberly Stevens and her husband, Paul, of Edwardsville, Kelly Alexander and her husband, Tom, of Albion, Jody McKechnie-Lewis and her husband, Scott, of San Marcos, TX, Jamie McKechnie of Edwardsville; 8 grandchildren, Kyra Readenour, Christopher Stevens, Chase Alexander, Sheldon Alexander, Teagan McKechnie, Coyt Baize, Emma Baize, and Shad Baize; 7 great-grandchildren, Kinley Stevens, Karsyn Stevens, Keegon Alexander, Bentley Alexander, Benjamin Alexander, Kayden Alexander, Emilynn Alexander, one sister, Karin Gray and her husband, Phil, of Albion; and 2 step-brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one step-sister.
Charlotte was a member at Little Prairie Christian Church in Albion and in recent years attended at Cottonwood Family Church in Glen Carbon.
Charlotte was cremated according to her wishes. A private family memorial service will take place in Albion at a later date.
