Marjorie D. Baker – Fairfield

82-year-old Marjorie D. Baker of Fairfield, died at 1:55am on Friday, October 9 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield. She had been a cook for Northside Grade School for 20 years, and, after her retirement, was a homemaker.

Marge was born on May 14, 1938, in Wayne County, IL,  to Lovell and Lucille (Tibbs) Armes. She was married to Doug Baker.

Survivors include her husband Doug Baker of Fairfield, four sons Brad (Diana) Baker of Enterprise, AL, Steve (Karen) Baker, Kent (Crystal) Baker, and Jeff Baker all of Fairfield, two daughters Kathy (Todd) Haegele of Fairhope, AL, and Sherri (Steve) Lichtenberger of Jerseyville, IL, eleven grandchildren Jason Baker, Cory Baker, Jenna Dunnigan, Quentin Baker, Katelyn Thomas, Kendra Breaux, Josh Barnard, Kristen Harwell, Jake Haegele, Sheena Whitehead, and Whitney Allison, and thirteen great grandchildren with two on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Marjorie Baker will be at 2pm on Monday, October 12th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12pm until the time of service at the funeral home. The family has requested all visitors wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Memorial donations can be made to the Wayne County Humane Society and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
