Raymond Stallings – Fairfield

Raymond Stallings, 91, of Fairfield passed away at 4:15PM on Friday October 23rd on the skilled care unit of Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  He was born on December 24th, 1928 in Johnston City IL to Troy and Julia (Pluta) Stallings.  Raymond was co-owner of Barth Insurance Agency in Wayne City and Cisne. He was also previously an insurance adjustor.  Raymond has been a member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield since 1960, he has been a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Training Union Teacher and served on several church committees.  He loved God and loved his church family.  Raymond was one of the founding members of the First Baptist Church food pantry.

Raymond is survived by son- Jody (Cathie) Stallings of Blairsville GA; daughters- Janie (Gary) Lake and Jill (Alan) Xanders both of Fairfield; grandchildren- Christopher Cox, Jason Cox, Jonathan Cox, Gannon Stallings, Max Stallings, Lea Ann Hungerford, Michael Xanders, and Zach Xanders; great grandchildren- Stephanie Cox, Quinten Cox, Madelyne Cox, Julia Cox, Ethan Hungerford, and Lillian Stallings; brother- Charles Robert Stallings of Salem IL; sister- Julia Joy Helfrich of Johnston City; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife- Marieta Stallings, great grandson- Elijah Hungerford, great granddaughter- Alyse Hungerford, sister- Jeanette Elliot, brothers- Troy JR, Homer, and Kenneth Stallings.

Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday October 28th, 2020 at Maple Hill Cemetery.  There will be no visitation, family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.  The family asks that everyone attending the graveside wear a mask and follow State of Illinois and CDC guidelines on social distancing per Covid-19 guidelines.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of all the arrangements.
