Marie Smith, 87, died Wednesday, October 28, at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL. She loved her family, traveling, Jeopardy, country music, and her cats. She enjoyed her yard and tending to her many flowers and plants. She was retired from Airtex Products.
Marie was born January 24th, 1933 to Ira and Opel (Atteberry) Farris of Enterprise, IL. She married Fred L. Smith on September 30, 1957 and he preceded her in death in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris Grandstaff.
She is survived by her daughters, Dena Griswold (and partner Keith Stout) of Fairfield and Lori Holman (and husband Carl) of Lebanon, IL.
Marie’s family is grateful for the skilled and loving caregivers who enabled her to remain in her home as her health was failing; they also became part of her extended family.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. There will be no public services.
