Josefina “Josie” Navarra – McLeansboro

87-year-old Josefina “Josie” Navarra, a resident of McLeansboro, died Sunday, November 22 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, IL.

She was born June 19, 1933 in Tacloban City, Philippines to Pedro Oquino and Genoveva (Redona) Navarra.  Josie worked as a medical clerk for the former Ildefonso A. Tomaneng M.D. Ltd in McLeansboro, IL and also attended St. Clements Catholic Church.
Josie is survived by two sisters: Guadalupe Bandolon and Emerenciana Navarra, both of Tacloban City, Philippines; nephew Jeffrey and wife Jennifer Tomaneng of Newton, MA; and great nephew Jacob Tomaneng of Newton, MA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Esmeralda Tomaneng, brother-in-law Ildefonso Tomaneng and brother Virgilio Navarra.
A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, November 28 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Clements Catholic Cemetery in McLeansboro with Fr. Vincent Obi conducting the service.  Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.  Per CDC guidelines masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be observed.  Memorial donations may be made to the donors choice and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
