Curtis Ray Wood – Fairfield

62-year-old Curtis Ray Wood of Fairfield, died at 10:29 AM, Sunday, December 27 at his home.  Born on December 2, 1958 in Rembrandt, Iowa to Roy and Faye (Huff) Wood, he was a supervisor in the Fabrication Department at Champion Labs.  Curt was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and was stationed at Ft. Bragg.  He enjoyed being a referee and on the chain gang for High School and Junior League Football, and was a member of the Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Curt is survived by his wife Judy Wood of Fairfield, sons Derick (Nina) Wood of Evansville, Curtis Heath (Stevi) Wood of Remlap, AL, and Mitchell (Shelby) Colyer of Burnt Prairie, and 6 grandchildren: Zerin, Aydi, Briley, Porter, River, and Lex.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Patrick Wood, and sister Kim Lingafelter.

Graveside services for Curt Wood will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, December 30th at Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW.  In lieu of flowers memorials in his honor may be made to Fairfield Junior League Football or Fairfield Mule backers and will be accepted by the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
