Anita L. Onyett, 66, of Fairfield, died at 5:36am on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. She had worked in Medical Records and was a CNA at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO and had also worked as a CNA at other locations in the area. Anita had been the secretary and a Sunday school teacher at the Fountain of Life Nazarene Church in Fairfield. She loved her church and church family very much.
Anita was born on June 3, 1954, in Vincennes, IN, to Carlous and Juanita (Kuster) James. She was raised, from a young child, by Logan and Mary Smith. On October 27, 1973, she married Robert L. Onyett.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years Robert Onyett of Grayville, two daughters Angelique (Brent) Maguire and Aimee (James Wilson) Onyett both of Fairfield, seven grandchildren Zachary Moyer, Felicia Shelton, Dana Bloodworth, Bryce Maguire, Haley Maguire, Ariana Shelton, and Jacob Maguire, three great grandchildren, with one on the way, and one brother Charles James of Lewisville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parents Logan and Mary Smith, one daughter Wendy Onyett, one great granddaughter Vaida Scott, four brothers and one sister.
Graveside services for Anita Onyett will held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, January 6th at Union Cemetery, east of Fairfield. A public visitation will be held from 11:30am until the time of service at the cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted at the cemetery or at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
