Wanda N. Tullis – Fairfield

103 year old Fairfield resident, Wanda N.  Tullis, passed away December 28, 2020 at the home of her daughter in Louisville, Kentucky. Wanda had lived at the home of her daughter in Louisville, Kentucky in recent years. Wanda was born April 25, 1917 in West Frankfort, Illinois to Lewis and Mary Ethel (Carter) Large. Wanda  married Willard Tullis on November 21, 1936 in Carmi, Illinois.  Wanda and Willard celebrated 58 years of married before his passing on October 22, 1994.  Wanda was a member of the First Baptist Church for many years and delighted in teaching children’s Sunday school and working in the nursery.  Her yearly batches of strawberry jelly and divinity fudge were eagerly anticipated.

Wanda is survived by her son, James (Jacque) Tullis of Zurich, Kansas;  her daughter, Carolyn (Dan) Zoeller of Louisville, Kentucky;  her daughter-in-law, Sherrye Tullis of Fairfield, Illinois; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard; 3 brothers, Denzel (Evelyn) Large, Donovan (Deardra) Large and Eugene (Katie) Large; her sweet granddaughter Ruth Ann Tullis and her son Lowell.

She was a lover of animals, especially doggies, including Princess and Maggie.  She also leaves behind many wonderful friends and extended relatives who she loved dearly and enjoyed recalling all their names as she thought of them in recent years.

Graveside services for Wanda  Tullis will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Shrewsbury Cemetery in Mill Shoals, Illinois.  She will be laid to rest beside her husband Willard.  Please remember CDC guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing.
