Andrew W. Miller Jr. – McLeansboro

78-year-old Andrew W. Miller Jr., died Wednesday, January 13th, in McLeansboro.  Andy is survived by his sister Sue Patkes of Springfield IL, sister in law LaDonna Miller of McLeansboro. Nieces and Nephews: Brad (Pam) Miller, Bruce Miller, Becky (Bob) Cross of McLeansboro and Bev (Buddy) Vaught of Carmi, Joe Patkes of Australia, Jennifer (Dan) Hall, Amy Brown and David (Brandi) Workman of Springfield, IL.

Great nieces and nephews: Caleb Miller, Cassi Renshaw, Emily Skelton, Clay Vaught, Logan Cross, Bradan Cross, Carlie Vaught, Jack, Luke and Kyra Hall, Keenan and Quinlin Brown, Brooke and Gracie Workman and Josh, Danny and Derek Miller. Six great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins also survive.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents Andrew W. Miller and Dora Kirsch Miller, brother; Charles R  Miller, sister; Margaret Workman, nephew Bryan Miller, niece Beth Workman and a great-great nephew Landon Cross.

Andy graduated MTHS in 1959. He was in the Army National Guard and later worked for the Times Leader for several years. He spent most of his career working as a Highway Maintainer for Illinois Department of Transportation of which he has been retired from for the last 20 years.

Andy was active in the Ageless Iron Tractor Club, St. Patricks Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and served many years as trustee for St Clements Catholic Church. He was also Uncle Andy to many- a title he loved.

He enjoyed traveling, wood working, wine making, genealogy and making old tractors look brand new.

Private family burial is pending and a celebration of Andy’s life will be extended to all friends at a later date.
