Evelyn Bernice Bonham Potter – Flora

Evelyn Bernice Bonham Potter, age 87, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Friday night, February 5, 2021 at Flora Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

She was born March 16, 1933 in Logan County, the dauther of William and Nora (Pease) Crosier.  She was previously married to George Bonham.  She later married Virgil Potter and they resided in rural Kinmundy.  Virgil preceded her in death in 2001.

Evelyn was a faithful woman of God, and had been a member of the United Pentecostal Church and Assembly of God in Flora.  She had worked for International Shoe Company in Flora, Kralis Poultry in Olney, and had spent years working around her farm outside of Xenia.  She enjoyed tending to her garden and reading her bible.

She is survived by 2 sons: David Bonham of Flora and Gary (Amie) Bonham of Sims; 5 grandchildren: Allen (Tonya) Bonham, Sheila (David) Greenwood, Christina Bonham, Katie (Tavis) Martinez, and Ruth Bonham; 11 great-grandchildren’ and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; 6 siblings; and a daughter-in-law: Darlene Bonham.

A funeral ceremony will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Lee Woods and David Bonham officiating.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.  Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Assembly of God Church in Flora, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a memory or condolence, visit: www.frankandbright.com
