John F. Wooldridge – Walpole

89-year-old John F. Wooldridge of Walpole, loving husband and father, died on Tuesday, February 9.

John was born on August 26th, 1931 in Walpole to Frank and Hazel (Burnett) Wooldridge. He was preceded in death by one brother Omar Eugene Wooldridge. John worked in his Aunt and Uncle’s General Store in Walpole until he enlisted in the Marines in 1952. When he came back, he married Donna Kay Randolph and they had one daughter Paula Ann (Wooldridge) Logan.

John started his United States Postal career in 1956 and retired as McLeansboro Rural Route 5 mail carrier in 1994. He was a deacon at the Hebron Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 1965 until 2005 and then was a member of the Crossroads Church of Christ. He also was a member of the Walpole Tuscan Lodge #0630 from 1961 to 2015.

John was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, and great nephew Tyler Anderson. He is survived by his wife Donna, his daughter Paula and husband Darrell Logan, one granddaughter Sara Renn, two great granddaughters Ellery and Tillie K Renn, one brother-in-law Donald Randolph and wife LaDonna, two nieces Jeanette (Randolph) Anderson (husband Randy) and Kim (Randolph) Huelsmann (husband Craig), and great nephews Caleb and Colin Huelsmann and Patrick Anderson.

A funeral service will be Saturday February 13 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation Saturday morning from 11:00 A.M. till funeral hour at the funeral home. The Rev. Kevin Peyton will officiate with burial in the Hebron Cemetery. Masonic rites will be at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home by the Walpole Tuscan Lodge#0630. Military rites at the Hebron Cemetery by the Marine Corps Honor Guard.
