90-year-old Evelyn L. Fletcher of Fairfield, died at 3:55 AM, Thursday, February 25 at her home. She had been a homemaker and sat with the elderly.
Evelyn was born on February 8, 1931, in Benton, IL, to Virgil and Sylvia (Eubanks) Hammonds. She was married to James Fletcher who preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include two sons David (Debbie) Fletcher and Jim (Georgianna) Fletcher both of Fairfield, a daughter Amy (Rod) Headley of Fairfield, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, and her brother Clyde Hammonds.
Graveside services for Evelyn Fletcher will be held at 11 AM, on Monday, March 1st at Maple Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation, and everyone is asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorials in her honor may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital and will be accepted at the graveside and the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
