Verla B. Campbell, McLeansboro

Verla B. Campbell 85, of Hobe Sound passed away on Thursday the 25th of February 2021.  She was born and raised in McLeansboro Il, becoming a resident of Hobe Sound Fl in 1987.  She worked in the real estate industry as office manager starting with Home Port Reality and ending with Coldwell Banker in 2015.  Her retirement was filled with involvement at her church First Baptist of Tequesta, the lady’s bible study, and enjoyed walking on the beach.   She cherished her family and friends always wanting to be involved and helping however she could.  Verla was one classy lady!

She is preceded in death by her husband and lifelong love William E. Campbell. Her sister Jane (Hunt)  Riesinger and her brother Edgar Jenkins.

She is survived by Her sons Timothy Campbell and wife Mary of Stuart FL, James Campbell and wife Carol of Royal Palm Beach Fl, grandson William Campbell and fiancé Amber Hahn with future great grandson. Betsy Campbell mother of William.

She is also survived by her sister June (Tedford) Smith of McLeansboro IL, Nieces Rita (Smith) and her husband Paul Maley of Chicago IL, Mickey (Smith) and her husband Otis Stanley of Equality IL, her nephew Tom Smith and his wife Debbie of Friendswood TX.  She has several great nieces and nephews as well as a great great  nephew.  Verla also left behind her beloved dog Cinnamon.

Verla has impacted many lives and will be truly missed by all of those who knew her.

Services were held at the First Baptist Church of Tequesta on Monday March 1st at 4 pm with visitation at 3pm. The Family ask that in leu of flowers please make donations to Hanna’s Home of Tequesta.  This was one of Verla’s favorite organizations.      https://hannahshomesf.org/
