Harold Wayne Miser – Grayville

67-year-old Harold Wayne Miser of Grayville, died Monday, May 17 surrounded by his loving family at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. He was born August 26, 1953, in Grayville, the son of Harold N. and Ruth (Hodgson) Miser. He was married to Marilyn Fay (Martin) Miser on November 14, 1980, and she preceded him in death on June 13, 2018.

Harold was a United States Navy Veteran and served on the USS Hermitage. He worked for many years in the Illinois Oil Basin oil fields. He enjoyed working word-search puzzles, watching wrestling, and his three cat companions. His family (especially his granddaughter and great granddaughter) was his great joy.

Survivors include daughter Melissa (Greg) Doty; sisters Vickie (David) Smith, Brenda (Charles) Johnson, all of Grayville; granddaughter Hanna (John) DeGraw; great granddaughter Kynzi, all of Blairstown, New Jersey; nieces Karen (David) Owen, Danette Norris, all of Carmi; and nephew Christopher Jones of Grayville.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson Jonathan Winebarger; sister Norma Wagner; and brother-in-law Gary Wagner.

Visitation and funeral are Saturday, May 22 at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Visitation is at 10 am, and funeral is at noon. Burial with military rites is in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
