Dale R. Williams, 90, of Fairfield, died at 5:20am on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at his home. He had been a mechanic for Farmer’s Supply in Fairfield and then retired from working in maintenance at Champion Laboratories in Albion.
Dale loved his English Setter dogs and did field trials. He won a Dog of the Year award and many other awards.
Dale was born on March 29, 1931, in Christian County, IL, to Ray and Beulah (Deselms) Williams. He was married to Geraldine “Gerry” Williams.
Survivors include one son Rick Williams of Fairfield, three daughters Sonja Flanagan of Fairfield, Brenda Braden of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Patsy Mourey of Bluford, IL, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gerry, one sister Lois Puntney, and one nephew Chester Totten.
Graveside services for Dale Williams will be at 11am on Wednesday, December 1st at the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL, with full military rite provided by the Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
