Charlie Wells – Albion

Charlie Wells, 91, Albion, IL, passed away on Sunday January 9, 2022, at his home.

He was born May 9, 1930, in Grayville, IL to Ed and Verder (Owens) Wells.  He married Madeline Colyer June 1, 1957, at Oakwood Christian Church in Wayne County, IL.

Charlie was a Korean War veteran, serving our country in the Navy for 4 years and in the National Guard for 2 years. He worked in construction, drove a school bus for the Edwards County School District for 20 years and served as the Animal Control Warden for the city of Albion. Charlie loved antique vehicles and was a member of the Egyptian Old Car Club and a member of the Prop busters remote control airplane club

He is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Verder (Owens) Wells, his wife Madeline, five brothers; Homer Wells, Glenn Wells, Floyd Wells, Jim Wells, Don Wells, two sisters; May Brown and Violet Crooks

Charlie is survived by special niece and nephew, Dean (Rhonda) Colyer of Albion; great niece and nephews, Jeff Colyer and finance’ Kinley Arnold, Ragan (Ernie) Dutra, Cory (Courtney) Sanders.

Visitation: Friday January 14, 2021, 9:30 am to 11:00 am, Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home, Albion, IL.

Funeral Service: Friday January 14, 2021, 11:00 am, Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home, Albion, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Edwards County Senior Citizens.

Interment: Graceland Cemetery, Albion, IL with Military Rites
