Wilma June Gaines Reever, 95, passed to Eternity with our Lord on February 3, 2022. Wilma was born June 27,1926, in Flint, Michigan, to Charles and Flora Belle McDaniel Gaines. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Curtis Wayne Reever; her mother, Flora; father, Charles; stepmother, Florence; a sister, Doris; and brothers, Chester and Charles Gaines.
Wilma was a devout Christian and faithful member of Fairfield First Christian Church. She retired from Fairfield Memorial Hospital after thirty-eight years of service in the surgery department. Known for her strong work ethic, she continued to work well into her seventies as an office nurse for Dr. P. Nathan. Wilma’s greatest gift was selflessly caring for her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, Granny and friend to all that knew her.
Wilma leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Sharon (Fred) Perrow of Ocala, Florida; a son, Allen (Chandra) Reever of Fairfield; a sister, Eloise Gaines; nine grandchildren- Kirk (Jennifer) Perrow, Zachary (Kaitlyn) Reever, Miles (Mariah) Reever, Mackenzie Reever, Mason Reever, Wendy(Paul) Koch, Christy Perrow (Warren), Chandler (Kathy) Courtright and Chalanda (Justin) Fischbach; two great-grandchildren, Ainslie and Pierce Perrow; six step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a special friend and neighbor, Diane Woodrow.
Funeral services in honor of Wilma Reever will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Springerton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at the church. Memorials in her honor may be made to Taco Tuesday at the First Christian Church, or the Clothesline, and will be accepted at the church or the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
