Dawerence “Dee” Albert Welty, 84, of Cisne passed away at 2:10 AM on Thursday March 24, 2022, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital Skilled Care Unit. He had been a meat cutter for over forty years. Dee was born in Flora on June 17, 1937, to Albert and Opal (Slade) Welty. He married Willene Lett on June 6, 1961.
Dee is survived by his wife- Willene Welty of Cisne; sons- James (Debra) Welty of Fairfield and Mark Welty of Carmi; daughters- Lisa (Jan) Ridgely of Olney and Gwen (Bruce) Troyer of Fairfield; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, brother- Bob (Kathy) Welty of Tennessee.
Dee was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- Paul, Richard, and Danny Welty, Duwayne Baughman, sisters- Darlene Durre and Veda Schrum, grandson- Joshua Dee Welty, great grandson- Rhett Clements, great granddaughter- Madalyn Clements.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Monday March 28, 2022, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
